No, JROTC is an elective course and the students have no obligation towards the military. A cadet may, however, earn advanced promotion upon enlistment should the cadet decide to enlist following a minimum of two full years of JROTC. |

No, JROTC cadets are issued a complete fatigue or work uniform and a complete dress uniform. |

No, Cadets are not allowed to be instructed in any tactical combat skills. There is instruction in marksmanship with air rifles. JROTC also sponsors the VHS Varsity Marksmanship Team using those same air rifles. |

Yes, Cadets will instruct, demonstrate and participate in weekly physical training. Cadets will be administered the JROTC physical fitness test or the Cadet Challenge each year. Additionally any cadet applying to attend the JROTC Summer Camp must take and pass the Army Physical Fitness Test. |
