What level of math do you recommend my student have completed to be successful in chemistry?

We frequently employ Algebra I skills in chemistry. Students are more likely to experience success in Chemistry after they have completed Biology and Algebra I.

What science classes will my student need in order to graduate from VMHS?

DoDEA requires students to complete three years of high school science. These three years must include Biology and either Chemistry or Physics. Chemistry Applications and Physics Applications both count toward the credit for Chemistry or Physics.

In addition to biology, chemistry, chemistry applications, physics, and physics applications, what other science choices will my student have?

We offer earth science and environmental science. Some of our students take other science electives through online instructors.

What kinds of labs can I expect my student to be doing in chemistry?

We are very fortunate to have a lab furnished with Vernier micro computer based lab (MBL) probes. Students can expect to be conducting MBL labs in addition to the traditional labs experienced in high school chemistry classes.

What advanced science classes are available to my student?

What we are able to offer varies, depending on requests made by the students. We do have teachers certified to teach AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and Other advanced science courses, such as AP Physics, are available through online instructors.
