Video Comm I Wins 2nd Place in Surgeon General Video Contest!
As an introductory project, the Video Communication I class at Vicenza High School participated in a Europe wide contest where the goal was to generate a video that creatively conveyed the Army Surgeon General’s key elements for health and inspire the overseas DoD community to make healthy choices and adopt healthy behaviors. As a class team, their focus was on promoting two of the five health elements which included being active and maintaining psychological resilience. In conducting research, they found that being active helps control stress and that two thirds of Americans do not exercise because they do not enjoy it. Their message? Make it fun and get moving! Thus, as part of their video, they involved our Vicenza community by filming in various locations and places having fun and being active together. Together as a class, they finalized the video footage and in competing against 40 other entries Europe wide, they earned 2nd place! Great job to the Video Communications I class and congratulations! Keep an eye out for the Get Moving commercial on AFN in the near future!

New Group for Students
BORED or BOARD Games? YouChoose! Sometimes all we need is time to wind down and de-stress. Well, we are now offering an opportunity for students to relax while playing board games instead of being bored. Let’s play and have fun every Monday in October, from 3:00 to 3:30pm in Ms. Rosana’s Office (Room 6). All you need is your willingness to play and to have fun...and bring your friends. All students are welcome and an after school snack treat will be provided.

Continuous School Improvement at Vicenza High School
Continuous School Improvement (CSI) is an ongoing process that helps schools focus their efforts in support of their mission and goals. Student performance and school/community data is analyzed and used to develop plans to ensure all students are learning and progressing toward achievement of academic standards. At VHS, our CSI goals were created based on our student data, focusing on areas that we need to strengthen. We incorporate these goals throughout the curriculum across all departments by using our interventions.
