School Improvement Plan

Mission Statement:
The mission of Vicenza Middle High School is to provide challenging learning opportunities that prepare students for the future.

Target Goals:

1. All students will develop critical thinking skills across the curriculum.
   We define critical thinking as the ability to select and apply reasoning and problem solving strategies to create solutions.
2. All students will develop information literacy skills across the curriculum.
   We define information literacy as the ability to locate, evaluate, and use information to make connections and become independent learners.

Interventions:

• Classroom Intervention –Goal 1
  Teachers will use a variety of strategies to assist students in the ability to reason, problem solve, and create solutions.
• Classroom Intervention: Goal 2
  Teachers will use a variety of strategies to assist students in the ability to reason, problem solve, and create solutions.
• Communication Intervention
  Vicenza Middle High school will utilize a variety of local publicity applications to communicate the school’s efforts and progress on the SIP plan with the community.
• SHC Partnership Intervention
  Vicenza Middle High School will utilize a variety of programs to involve community members in the students’ learning process.
• Technology Intervention
  Vicenza Middle High School will continue to develop further applications of technology in the learning process.
